Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in a statement on his social media account that Russia had launched a missile attack on the capital. Noting that damage occurred in different districts of the city, Klitschko said, "A children's hospital building was damaged in the Solomyansky district."
A FIRE BROKE OUT AT A POLICE STATION DUE TO THE ATTACK
Klitschko stated that, according to preliminary reports, 8 people were killed and 33 were injured in the attack.
In a statement from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS), it was noted that search and rescue operations were ongoing in the Svyatoshynskyi, Darnytskyi, and Solomyansky districts of the city.
The statement also reported that the Russian army launched an attack on Ukraine's Zhytomyr region, resulting in the deaths of 2 people and injuries to 40 others.
It was also stated in the statement that a fire broke out at a police station in the region due to the attack.
