In the Atakum district of Samsun, Emir Ulaş Usta (17), who was in danger of drowning in the sea, and his uncle Hasan Voyvat (42), who entered the water to save his nephew, lost their lives. The incident occurred at around 17:30 on the coast of Yeşilyurt Neighborhood in the Atakum district. Emir Ulaş Usta, who entered the sea to cool off, disappeared in the water after swimming for a while. His uncle, Hasan Voyvat, who noticed his nephew had disappeared in the sea, went into the water to save him.
THEY WERE PULLED FROM THE SEA BY CITIZENS
However, after a while, Hasan Voyvat also faced the danger of drowning. Upon the report, health teams, marine police, and lifeguards were dispatched to the area. First aid was administered by health teams to Hasan Voyvat, who was pulled from the sea unconscious by citizens. Meanwhile, it was determined that Emir Ulaş Usta was still in the sea. As a result of the search conducted by the marine police and lifeguards, Usta was found unconscious in the sea.
THEY COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE ALL DOCTORS' INTERVENTIONS
Hasan Voyvat and his nephew Emir Ulaş Usta were taken by ambulances to Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Medicine Hospital. The uncle and nephew could not be saved despite all the doctors' interventions at the hospital.
The bodies of Hasan Voyvat and Emir Ulaş Usta were sent to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institution Samsun Group Directorate for autopsy procedures.
