STABBED IN FRONT OF HER 3-YEAR-OLD CHILD
The incident occurred on August 27, 2025, in the Yıldırım district of Bursa. According to the allegation, 27-year-old Sevgi Yandık, who lived with her mother, was called outside by her ex-husband, Doğan Ş., under the pretext of talking. The young woman, taking her 3-year-old child with her, met her ex-husband in the park. While the argument that broke out between the two there quickly escalated, Doğan Ş. attacked his ex-wife with a knife he had brought with him. Sevgi Yandık, who was stabbed multiple times in front of her child, was seriously injured. Upon reports from people nearby, medical and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The young woman, who was taken to the hospital after initial intervention by medical teams, could not be saved despite all doctors' efforts.
WENT TO THE POLICE STATION AND SURRENDERED
After the incident, the suspect Doğan Ş., who left the area, later went to the police station and surrendered. After completing procedures at the police department, the suspect was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court he was brought before and sent to prison. In the judicial process initiated after the murder, the fact that the young child was beside her mother at the time of the incident was one of the most striking aspects of the case. The young woman's relatives wanted justice to be served throughout the trial.
AGGRAVATED LIFE SENTENCE WITHOUT REDUCTION FROM THE COURT
At the final hearing of the case heard in Bursa, the court panel announced its verdict regarding the defendant. The defendant who killed Sevgi Yandık was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment.
