As clashes between Iran and the US in the Middle East spread to the Gulf, tensions have risen again. Iran, continuing its retaliatory moves against US attacks, launched a new assault on the Arab country of Kuwait with missiles and drones. While Kuwait activated its air defense systems, the Tehran administration announced it had targeted US military bases in the country.

Conflicts between Iran and the US continue to spread across the Middle East. Iran launched a new attack on Kuwait with missiles and drones in the early hours of Thursday, September 3.

The Kuwaiti army confirmed the attack, stating that the country's air defense systems were activated against missiles and drones coming from Iran.

KUWAIT'S AIR DEFENSE ACTIVATED

The Kuwaiti General Staff reported that the country's air defense systems intercepted missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Officials noted that the explosion sounds heard in the country might have resulted from air defense systems engaging incoming targets, urging the public to follow security instructions.

Initial statements did not share information about any damage or casualties caused by the attack.

IRAN CONFIRMED THE ATTACK

Iran's state television also made a statement about the attack. It was stated that Tehran targeted US military bases in Kuwait and that the attack was carried out in response to US operations against Iran.

While Iran claimed to have struck US bases, this allegation has not yet been confirmed by Kuwait or the US.

KUWAIT TARGETED FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE DAYS

Kuwait had also been targeted by Iranian attacks the previous day. Iran's Revolutionary Guard had announced that it targeted US military presence at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.

The Kuwaiti government, however, described Iran's attacks as a violation of the country's sovereignty, stating that it has the right to take necessary measures to protect its security and interests.

IRAN'S ATTACKS SPREAD ACROSS THE REGION

Iran's recent attacks were not limited to Kuwait. The Tehran administration has also recently carried out attacks on US-linked targets in Jordan, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and northern Iraq.

The successive attacks in the region have heightened concerns that the conflicts between Iran and the US could spread further to Gulf countries.
