New details have emerged about the mother arrested on suspicion of killing her two-month-old baby by cutting his throat in the Gerede district of Bolu. Meanwhile, the grieving father, who encountered the horrific scene upon arriving home, fell ill after the funeral and was taken to the hospital.

'I DON'T KNOW WHO KILLED MY BABY'
The incident occurred on Saturday, April 25, in the Kitirler neighborhood of Gerede district. According to the information obtained, 2-month-old Ela C. was found dead at home with her throat cut. The murder suspect, mother Serpil C. (30), left the house and walked for kilometers along the D-100 highway towards the Yeniçağa district before being caught and detained by police. In her first interrogation at the police station, the suspect denied the accusations, saying, 'I definitely did not kill my baby, and I don't know who killed him.' After the procedures were completed, she was referred to the Gerede District Courthouse. Serpil C. was arrested by the court on charges of 'intentional killing with monstrous intent.'
Little Ela's body was buried yesterday in the village cemetery of Demircisopran after the noon prayer at the mosque. It was learned that the couple C. got married in 2024, with Serpil C. being a housewife and her husband Selahattin C. working as a factory worker.

It was determined that immediately after the incident, the murder suspect mother Serpil C. called her husband Selahattin C. It was learned that the mother hung up the phone after saying to her husband, 'Something happened to the baby, I'm leaving the house.' Panicking upon hearing these words, the father quickly went home and encountered the lifeless body of his 2-month-old daughter Ela with her throat cut.
ALLEGED DOCTOR'S 'PSYCHIATRY' WARNING
It was claimed that Serpil C., who gave birth at the beginning of March, was warned by the doctor observing her condition during a routine check-up at the district hospital about a month before the incident to visit the psychiatry department. It was stated that following this recommendation, the family applied to a private hospital in Bolu.
THE GRIEVING FATHER WAS HOSPITALIZED
Yesterday, during the burial of little Ela in the Demircisopran village of Gerede district, the grieving father Selahattin C., who struggled to stand, collapsed after the ceremony.
