The popular messaging app WhatsApp, used by millions of people, will no longer work on certain phone models as of January 1, 2025. Here are the phone models announced by Meta that will stop supporting the app in 8 days.
Meta will withdraw support for certain Motorola, Samsung, HTC, LG, and Sony phone models starting January 1, 2025.
WHATSAPP SUPPORT COMING TO AN END
The company announced that it is coming to an end for WhatsApp support for phones with outdated hardware that struggle to run new versions.

The evolving features of WhatsApp and the innovations added to the platform are causing these devices' outdated hardware to become incompatible. For the current features to work smoothly, understandably, and orderly, stronger and newer devices are required. Therefore, WhatsApp finds the solution to directly cut support for devices with outdated hardware that struggle to operate.
FINAL DEADLINE FOR IPHONES IS MAY 2025
The final deadline for iPhone models is set for May 2025. iPhone models using iOS 15.1 and earlier versions will not be able to benefit from WhatsApp support as of May 2025.
