The fact that only a few pieces came out of the large box of pistachio candy purchased from the terminal has brought the 'deceptive packaging' debate back to the agenda.
A citizen who opened a box of pişmaniye (Turkish cotton candy) purchased from an intercity bus terminal was greatly surprised when they saw the contents. It turned out that only the visible part of the box contained pişmaniye, while the rest was empty.
THE BOX IS LARGE, BUT ALMOST EMPTY INSIDE
Only three pieces of pişmaniye came out of the large and flashy box. It was observed that a large portion of the box was filled with a plastic container, and the amount of product was far below expectations. The images highlighted that despite the large internal volume of the box, the product was quite limited.
THE DEBATE OVER MISLEADING PACKAGING
The incident has brought the debate over "deceptive packaging" back to the forefront. Experts emphasize that product packaging should accurately reflect its contents, and point out that consumers can seek their rights in such cases.
