TRIED EVERY WAY, STILL COULDN'T LEARNÖzkan Aydik, a 42-year-old cleaning worker living in the Gölcükler neighborhood of Menderes district, saw that 23 million 16 thousand 393 Turkish Lira had been deposited into his account when he logged into his mobile banking application to pay his natural gas bill on the morning of October 23. Shocked by the situation, Aydik immediately reported it to the bank's customer service. Wanting to know where the money came from, Özkan Aydik went to the bank branch when he received no information. After returning the entire excess amount in his account to the bank, Aydik still could not find out where the money came from. Özkan Aydik stated that he did not tell anyone about the situation beforehand because he did not want to confuse his mind, and after returning the money to the bank, he explained the situation to his family and neighbor. Experiencing great anxiety, Özkan Aydik wanted to make the situation public upon the advice of his neighbor Uğur Karaca. The honest citizen later went to the Menderes District Police Department to give a statement. "I RETURNED IT BECAUSE IT WAS HARAM MONEY"Özkan Aydik, who said he experienced a great shock, stated that he returned the entire amount because it was haram money. Aydik said, "When I logged into my mobile banking application to pay my natural gas bill, I saw that there was an amount over 23 million Lira in my account. In shock, I immediately called the bank's customer service and asked where this money came from. When I didn't get a response, I went straight to the bank and explained the situation. They made a few phone calls, and then I returned the entire amount I received to the bank because it was haram money," he said. I RETURNED THE MONEY BUT WHERE DID IT GO? Özkan Aydik said, "I didn't mention this incident to anyone until I went to the bank to return the money, maybe they would confuse my mind. I returned the money just like a citizen pays at the counter. Then, no one from the bank officials came to ask where this money came from. I became suspicious and explained the situation to my neighbor. So, where did this money come from? I returned the money, but where did the money go; I want to learn that. The bank officials informed me that they could not disclose where the money came from and where it went due to regulations. I became anxious and now I will go to the police station to report the situation," he stated.
