A surprise transfer claim has emerged from Spain for Galatasaray's Nigerian star Victor Osimhen. It has been alleged that Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone wants to see the 27-year-old striker in his squad, while the Spanish club is working on different formulas to meet the financial conditions of the transfer.
According to a report by Spain-based DirecTV Sports, Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has placed Victor Osimhen high on his transfer list in order to strengthen the attacking line.
The Argentine coach reportedly asked management for a top-level striker signing and found the Nigerian star to fit the profile he was looking for.
FORMULA BEING SOUGHT FOR THE TRANSFER
It has been claimed that Atletico Madrid management is evaluating financial options to complete Osimhen's transfer. The Spanish club has been alleged to be focusing on options such as performance-related bonuses, player exchanges, and flexibility in the payment plan.
GALATASARAY'S STANCE WILL BE DECISIVE
Osimhen, whom Galatasaray signed from Napoli in 2025 for a transfer fee of 75 million euros, has a contract running until 2029. Because the Nigerian footballer's contract does not contain a fixed release clause, the final say in a possible transfer will belong to the yellow-and-red management.
Osimhen, one of Galatasaray's most important names in the attacking line, is not expected to be let go easily, while his high salary is also cited as one of the economic obstacles to the transfer.
HE SHONE IN THE FENERBAHÇE DERBY
Victor Osimhen was the player who brought his team the win with the two goals he scored in the 2-1 victory over Fenerbahçe in the 2026-2027 season. The Nigerian star, who draws attention with his physical strength, runs behind the defense, and finishing, is said to suit Simeone's style of play.
EYES TURNED TO ATLETICO MADRID
It is wondered whether Atletico Madrid's interest in Osimhen will turn into an official offer. There is not yet any information indicating that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs regarding the transfer.
