On June 26, a fire broke out in a house in Colorado Springs as a result of a pet dog igniting the stove. After examining the security cameras in the house, the police and fire department determined that the cause of the fire was the dog igniting the stove. One of the homeowners managed to extinguish the fire on their own, preventing a larger disaster.
In the footage taken on June 26th, it can be seen that the dog calmly turns the knob of the stove and ignites the fire, and then the flames quickly spread. Although the beginning of this incident seems like an ordinary moment in the kitchen, it becomes clear that the kitchen cabinets caught fire and the smoke alarm went off in the background.
NO FATALITIES OR INJURIES
The Colorado Springs Fire Department was quickly called to the scene after a HomePod device sent a 'high heat' alert, and they released these astonishing images. Fortunately, one of the homeowners managed to extinguish the fire on their own, preventing a larger disaster.
According to USAToday, a man was treated for smoke inhalation during the incident. However, no other injuries were reported for both the dog and other family members. Nevertheless, the family had to move out of their home due to the damage caused, demonstrating how destructive the fire was.
INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE DOG CAUSED THE FIRE
After the fire, the police and fire department reviewed the security cameras in the house and determined that the dog was responsible for igniting the stove. This incident once again highlights how pets can sometimes cause unexpected and potentially dangerous situations. While the family tries to recover from the shock of this incident caused by the dog, they also emphasized the importance of being more careful about pet safety.
