In the village of Davutlar, part of Karabük, 2-year-old Berkant Kurt, left alone at home by his family who went to collect linden flowers, died tragically when flames suddenly erupted around him. In the neighborhood where three houses were reduced to ashes, the discovery of the baby's lifeless body on a bed reached by fire crews broke hearts.
In the fire that broke out in the Davutlar village of Karabük and reduced 3 houses to ashes, 2-year-old Berkant Kurt, whom his family left home alone to pick linden flowers, tragically lost his life. After the fire brigade extinguished the flames, the lifeless body of little Berkant, found in his bed, broke hearts.
FLAMES SPREAD TO 3 HOUSES IN A SHORT TIME
The fire broke out around 16:00 in the Kadıoğlu neighborhood of Davutlar village, affiliated with Karabük city center, in a single-story wooden house belonging to Ahmet Ç., for an undetermined reason. The flames, growing rapidly and fueled by the wind, spread to the adjacent single-story houses belonging to Nurullah E. and Sadık E.
Upon reports from nearby residents, numerous fire brigade, medical, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.
TEAMS ENCOUNTERED A PAINFUL SCENE
Informed that a child was alone in the house where the fire first started, the fire brigade prioritized this house and fought the flames with all their might. After intense efforts to bring the fire under control and enter the house, the teams found the lifeless body of 2-year-old Berkant Kurt in his bed.
LEFT THE 2-YEAR-OLD BABY HOME ALONE
Initial investigations revealed that little Berkant's family had gone out to pick linden flowers, leaving the young child home alone.
It was learned that the house door was locked, and the grandmother at the scene broke hearts by shedding tears, saying, "My baby is gone."
The father, who arrived at the village upon hearing the news, broke hearts by crying while hugging his other children.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
As a result of the intense efforts of the fire brigade, the fire in all 3 houses was completely extinguished, and cooling operations were carried out. Little Berkant's lifeless body was taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy after the prosecutor's examination at the scene. The gendarmerie launched a comprehensive investigation into the tragic incident.
