THE PROSECUTION HAD MADE A STATEMENT

The Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had made statements as a result of the investigations conducted. In the statement, it was said, "On October 3, 2024, a grave opening process was carried out at the request of the Karabulut family and the decision of the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, due to claims that Cem Garipoğlu, who was determined to have committed suicide in prison, was not dead and that the person buried was someone else. After the examination conducted by the experts of the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institution, DNA examinations of bone, teeth, and all other samples were meticulously carried out in the Biology Specialization Department. As a result of the procedures, it was determined that the samples taken from the grave belonged to Cem Garipoğlu, the joint child of father Mehmet Nida and mother Tülay Makbule, and that this person had the exact same DNA profile as the individual who was determined to have committed suicide in 2014."
