The Vice President of the Turkish Football Federation, Mecnun Otyakmaz, stated that there is no decision to postpone the leagues following the earthquake in Istanbul. Otyakmaz expressed that the Super League matches will be played as scheduled.

During the gala dinner held in celebration of the opening of the UEFA Istanbul Representation and the anniversary of the establishment of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the Vice President of the Turkish Football Federation, Mecnun Otyakmaz, made statements.

"WE DO NOT HAVE SUCH A DECISION"

Otyakmaz stated that there is no postponement decision regarding the leagues following the earthquake that occurred today in Istanbul. Regarding the issue, Otyakmaz said, "It seems like there is such uncertainty, but we do not have such a decision. Our leagues will continue as planned. If something extraordinary happens, and if there is a recommendation from the provincial security board, we will evaluate it separately. Right now, we are continuing with our program."

Mecnun Otyakmaz also expressed, "I wish our country and our city a speedy recovery. It really saddened us to have it happen on such a day. Thank God it was a holiday, and the children were in the streets. I celebrate the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day."

Otyakmaz concluded his remarks by saying, "We have a final match in 2026. A final in 2027 and the European Championship will be organized in 2032. There will be many arrivals and departures. It was discussed that having a center in Istanbul would be very beneficial in the talks between UEFA and TFF. The opening will take place tomorrow, and today we are at the gala dinner."
