As the summer holiday season draws to a close, vacationers departing from Muğla's tourism centers have hit the road for their return journeys. While there is heavy vehicle traffic on the exit routes from the city, particularly in Bodrum, Marmaris, and Fethiye, long queues of vehicles have formed on some roads.

INCREASED DENSITY ON RETURN ROUTES
Citizens vacationing in Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, and Datça taking to the roads at the same time caused congestion on the highways across the city.
Due to vacationers leaving Bodrum, vehicle density was experienced especially on the Bodrum-Milas highway towards Güvercinlik. While traffic increased on the Datça highway and the Muğla direction of Ulusal Egemenlik Avenue in Marmaris, the Ölüdeniz-Fethiye highway in Fethiye was among the routes where density was observed.
Vehicle mobility also increased on the Marmaris-Ula highway used by vacationers returning from Marmaris and Datça, and at the entrance of the Menteşe district. In some points, vehicles were seen moving slowly and long queues formed.
TRAFFIC TEAMS TOOK PRECAUTIONS
Due to the increased vehicle density, police and gendarmerie traffic teams took precautions, especially at intersections and critical passage points. The teams made directions to drivers to ensure the smooth continuation of traffic flow.
