In the Manyas district of Balıkesir, 7 people were caught who enabled criminals to escape by sharing the locations where police and gendarmerie teams set up checkpoints via a WhatsApp group.
It was determined that some individuals disclosed the security and traffic inspections conducted in the police and gendarmerie responsibility areas in the Manyas district of Balıkesir in advance. As a result of the meticulous efforts of the teams, it was detected that instant information was shared about the locations and routes of the checkpoints through a WhatsApp group with 250 members.
THEY ESCAPED CHECKPOINTS BY SENDING MESSAGES TO THE GROUP
Thanks to this established messaging group, it was understood that wanted individuals, those involved in crime, or drivers with incomplete traffic documents managed to evade checkpoints and escape control. Following the detection of the situation, the Manyas District Police Department teams took action and launched an operation.
7 SUSPECTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
Within the scope of the operation, a total of 7 suspects, including the administrators of the group and those identified as sharing information about checkpoint locations within the group, were apprehended and taken into custody. After their procedures at the police station were completed, the suspects were referred to the Manyas Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The investigation into the incident continues.
