The first data regarding salary increases, which concern millions of people in Turkey, was announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK). According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, the monthly inflation rate in January was 5.03%. With the inflation figure that will affect the salaries of civil servants and retirees, the first increase rate has also been determined. Accordingly, the data for January will be 5.03% for the calculation of retirement salaries.
SEPARATE CALCULATIONS FOR BOTH GROUPS
In the first 6 months of 2025, civil servant salaries and civil servant retirees' monthly pensions will be increased by 6% in the first half and 5% in the second half. These increase rates will be implemented if they remain below inflation. If inflation remains higher than the increase rates, civil servants and retirees will also see the inflation difference as an increase in their salaries.
The increase in the salaries of civil servants and retirees for the first 6 months of the year is determined based on the 6-month inflation rate. Therefore, in addition to January, the inflation data for February, March, April, May, and June will also need to be announced.
