The actress, explaining her reason for joining Survivor, said that the consecutive heavy events in her career and personal life had worn her down psychologically. Çetinkaya mentioned that she lost a close friend in a traffic accident, and recounted that she experienced panic attacks and withdrew from life during this period.
The actress, who expressed feeling unhappy at that time, said, "I am in the middle of something; I am famous, I have money, but I am unhappy. I started to withdraw into myself day by day. I wanted to escape. I fled to Survivor."

"ONLY MY FIGHTS WERE SHOWN ON SCREEN"
Duygu Çetinkaya, stating that years later, Survivor footage is still remembered for its fight scenes, said this was due to the show's editing.
Çetinkaya expressed, "Life is 24 hours, and I am not a person who fights for 24 hours. Many different moments happened on the island, but those fights were mostly reflected on the screen. The system presented me to the audience with those images," indicating that only a part of her experiences on Survivor was broadcast.
