HE BEAT HER AND TRIED TO FORCE HER INTO THE CAR The incident occurred 2 weeks ago in the Altaylılar neighborhood of Tarsus district, on Orhun Street. According to allegations, the 20-year-old victim, B.Ş., was assaulted by her boyfriend, Y.K., following an argument while traveling by car. Seizing the opportunity when Y.K. stopped the car to enter a kiosk, B.Ş. got out and entered a grocery store to seek help. Meanwhile, the suspect came to the store, dragged the woman on the ground, and forced her into the car. Another woman arriving on the scene rescued B.Ş. from the suspect's grasp and took her to her own car. This time, suspect Y.K. rammed his car into that vehicle and punched its window. B.Ş. then fled and took shelter in another workplace. Upon notification of the situation, police launched an investigation while the suspect fled. The incident, for which the woman filed a complaint, was captured second by second on the workplace's security camera. Meanwhile, it was alleged that the suspect was caught and released pending trial.

"I RAN AND HID" Describing how she ran and entered a grocery store, B.Ş. said, “I went inside, I was out of breath, I had no strength left. He came after me. He grabbed me like this, dragged me. He pulled me by my shirt all the way to the car. Of course, there was a struggle there. Then a woman came and rescued me. We got into the back of her car, and the chase began. He kept ramming us from behind, over and over. He hit so hard that I thought ‘we’re going to die, it’s over.’ We’d go off a cliff. Finally, trucks blocked our path. He had already punched the woman’s window. While he was trying to get the woman out, I had to think of myself. I took the woman’s phone and called someone. Like ‘come save us.’ Then I fled from the back door. I hid behind a shop.”

The real start of the issue was when I found out he was married, and I began to keep my distance. That’s why I had taken out restraining orders twice before. Even though he violated them, I couldn’t say anything out of fear. I couldn’t even report the violation to the police because he’d tell my family where I was.”
