Gendarmerie Senior Sergeant Yusuf Ergün, who was martyred when a car struck him while ensuring highway safety in Ankara, was bid farewell on his final journey in his hometown of Kırıkkale with tears and prayers. The tears of his soldier brother, who embraced his most beloved brother's coffin draped in the Turkish flag, and the steadfast, proud stance of his grieving father, deeply touched the hearts of thousands of citizens attending the funeral ceremony.
Gendarmerie Senior Sergeant Major Yusuf Ergün, who was martyred after being struck by a car while selflessly serving to ensure highway safety in Ankara, was bid farewell on his final journey with tears and prayers in Kırıkkale, where he was born and raised. TRAGIC ACCIDENT WHILE ON DUTY
Gendarmerie Senior Sergeant Major Yusuf Ergün, assigned to the Gökçehüyük Highway Gendarmerie Station Command under the Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command Highway Gendarmerie Command, was carrying out work to ensure road safety on the 48th kilometer of the Ankara-Niğde Highway. During this time, he was severely injured after being hit by a moving car and was rushed to Gölbaşı State Hospital. However, despite all medical interventions, the young sergeant could not be saved and was martyred.
EMOTIONAL FAREWELL AT NUR MOSQUE
Emotional moments were experienced during the funeral ceremony held for Martyr Yusuf Ergün at Kırıkkale Nur Mosque. One of the most poignant moments of the ceremony was the farewell of the martyr with his brother, who is also a soldier. Specialist Sergeant Oğuzhan Güner, serving at Şırnak Provincial Gendarmerie Command, embraced his elder brother's coffin wrapped in the Turkish flag for minutes, shedding tears. Mother Emine Ergün and sister Merve Ergün could not hold back their tears by the coffin.
MARTYR'S FATHER'S DIGNIFIED STANCE: HOW HAPPY AM I
During the ceremony, the upright and resolute stance of the martyr's father, Abdullah Ergün, moved everyone. While accepting condolences, the grieving father addressed Deputy Minister of Interior Ali Çelik, saying "Long live the homeland" and recorded the following dignified words:
"How happy I am, I have become a father of a martyr. I have raised a good child for this country. I am happy, I am at peace. Because I raised a good child."
BURIED WITH PRAYERS
After the funeral prayer, the body of Martyr Gendarmerie Senior Sergeant Major Yusuf Ergün was laid to rest at Kırıkkale Martyrdom, accompanied by takbirs and prayers.
At the funeral ceremony, where the state and the nation stood united; along with the martyr's family and relatives, Deputy Minister of Interior Ali Çelik, Gendarmerie General Commander General Ali Çardakcı, Kırıkkale Governor Hüseyin Engin Sarıibrahim, AK Party Deputy Mustafa Kaplan, MHP Deputy Halil Öztürk, Mayor Ahmet Önal, provincial protocol, and many citizens attended to pay their last respects to the martyr.
