Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated ahead of the NATO Leaders' Summit that he expects significant decisions on support for Ukraine from Ankara. Noting that 22 people were killed in Russia's latest attacks, Zelensky emphasized his country's need for more air defense systems and reiterated his request for a Patriot production license from the United States.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky provided information on the search and rescue operations following Russia's attacks on various regions of Ukraine in a statement on his social media account.
DEATH TOLL IN RUSSIA'S ATTACKS RISES TO 22
Zelensky announced that the death toll from the air strikes carried out by the Russian army on the capital Kyiv and the town of Vyshneve in the Kyiv region since the previous night has risen to 22, while the number of injured has exceeded 90.
Zelensky stated that Russia used 68 missiles and 351 armed drones in the attacks and expressed that his country needs more air defense systems.
"PATENT LICENSE FOR PATRIOT IS OUR TOP PRIORITY"
Recalling that they have requested a license from the USA for the production of Patriot air defense systems, Zelensky said, "This is our highest priority."
"NATO SUMMIT MUST BE SIGNIFICANT FOR UKRAINE"
Referring to the 36th NATO Summit to be hosted by Ankara, Zelensky stated that they expect concrete steps in support of Ukraine from the summit.
Zelensky said, "We expect the 36th NATO Summit to be important for Ukraine. We hope that the summit of the strongest Euro-Atlantic states to be held in Ankara will not be in vain."
