In the case of the fire disaster at Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Resort, where 78 people lost their lives on January 21, the trial of 32 defendants, 19 of whom are in custody, included statements from Süleyman Nazik, the father of Esra Nazik (25), a cafe worker who died in the fire, and his wife Şerife Nazik.

"I LOST MY DAUGHTER BECAUSE OF THESE KILLERS"

Complainant Süleyman Nazik stated that a person who called him at 9:00 AM informed him that there was a large fire at the hotel and that they had not heard from his daughter Esra Nazik and her friends. Nazik mentioned that when he hung up the phone and turned on the television, he saw that the hotel was on fire, and then he said he set off from İzmir.

Nazik explained that he tried to identify his daughter by looking at the bodies in Bolu, and when he couldn't find her, he went to Ankara, saying, "I lost my daughter because of these killers."

Nazik stated that he had been asking himself for 6 months, "Is my daughter alive?" and said, "I called my nonexistent daughter's phone countless times. Since the morning of January 21, I have nothing left."

"HAVE YOU EVER CALLED SOMEONE WHO HAS DIED?"

Süleyman Nazik indicated that his life has completely changed since January 21, saying, "Have you ever called a nonexistent person's phone? Have you ever called someone who has died? I have. There is no joy left in our home. Unfortunately, I lost my daughter. Thank you, Your Honor, for conducting the trial in a way that leaves no question marks in our minds. We listened to their lies here. They all fell victim to negligence. I do not forgive anyone. I want everyone who is remotely related to this matter to be punished. I am a complainant and I will participate in the trial," he said.

"I PUT MY DAUGHTER'S HAIR IN A JAR"

Şerife Nazik, the mother of the young girl who died in the fire, said she put her child's hair in a jar. The grieving mother, who asked to look at the faces of the defendants, cried out, "My child died because of these greedy people. Look at my face, all of you. What would it have cost you to do everything right? My child had dreams. One of those defending says they haven't seen my child for months. This one says they miss my child. I put my child's hair in a jar. My daughter was the most beautiful in the world. My child's smile was enough. Be accountable, say 'I am guilty.' My child's voice is gone, her scent is gone. Because of your greed, my daughter is under the ground," she said.
