In the Kartepe district of Kocaeli, Oğuz Karslıoğlu feeds a fox he named 'Tilko' by hand. Karslıoğlu said, "I saw it about a month ago through the window of the shack. I went outside and threw some bread to it. After that, it started to come closer to us. It entered the house and started eating from our plates. I throw food to it every 2-3 days, and it comes to take it."
Oğuz Karslıoğlu, who lives in a hut at the summit of Kartepe, which is 1640 meters high in the Samanlı Mountains, noticed a fox coming to his window about a month ago. Karslıoğlu went out of the hut and fed the fox some bread. The fox took the bread and wandered around before leaving. Noting that the fox, which came to the hut at different times, had gotten used to him, Karslıoğlu began to feed the animal by hand. After a while, the fox entered the hut and ate bread, biscuits, and fruit from a plate. Karslıoğlu recorded moments of the fox, which he named 'Tilko', eating and wandering around the hut.
'HE LOVES BREAD AND BISCUITS VERY MUCH'
Sharing his observations about the fox, Oğuz Karslıoğlu said, "I saw it about a month ago from the window of the hut. I went outside and threw some bread to it. After that, it started to approach us, entered the house, and began to eat from our plates. I throw food to it every 2-3 days, and it comes to take it. It loves bread and biscuits very much. It prefers bones and meat more. In the beginning, it was very anxious, but now it has become more friendly. I have somewhat disrupted that friendliness. Because I have seen it being killed by malicious people. For this reason, I keep my distance and love it from afar. There is a jackal family that comes and goes, and there are birds. I don't feel any anxiety. They react; some are worried it might bite, while others say, 'Don't get too close, it will get used to other people, and malicious people will harm it.' Of course, I take that into consideration. A few days ago, 'Sinco' appeared, and I named it 'Tilko' in reference to that. We should not harm animals; let's protect nature. They are also a part of this life," he expressed.
