WHAT HAPPENED?
On December 1, the responsible public prosecutor, suspicious of the long absence of the permanent worker E.T. at the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Custody Office, had the custody officer K.D. open the safes.
Upon realizing that the safes were empty, it was determined during the investigation that approximately 50 kilograms of silver and about 25 kilograms of gold belonging to investigation and prosecution files were missing. The investigation revealed that E.T. had fled to England with his wife and children on a flight from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport on November 19.
An arrest warrant was issued for E.T. and his wife E.T., and K.D., who was responsible for the safes, was taken into custody. It was determined that E.T., who worked at the custody office, had removed the gold and silver from the judicial custody in one go using a shopping cart. The suspect K.D. was transferred to the Büyükçekmece Courthouse after his procedures at the police station.
K.D., whose statement was taken by the prosecutor's office, was sent to the peace criminal court with a request for arrest. The court decided to arrest the suspect K.D. for the crime of "embezzlement."
