The fear of Turkey has reached the Israeli parliament. Far-right MP Ohad Tal, in a speech at the Knesset, targeted Ankara and called on Western countries to "stop Turkey, or we will pay the heaviest price." Tal also argued that Turkey poses an even greater risk to Israel than Iran.
Ohad Tal, one of the most talked-about figures in Israeli public opinion recently, has once again made headlines with statements targeting Turkey.
Tal, a member of the Religious Zionism Party led by far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, used provocative language towards Turkey in a speech at the Israeli Knesset and made a call that drew attention from international circles.
"STOP TURKEY, OR WE WILL PAY THE HEAVIEST PRICE"
In his speech, Tal described Turkey as one of the biggest threats to his country, urging Western countries to "Stop Turkey. Otherwise, we will pay the heaviest price." He claimed that Ankara's influence in the region is increasing day by day and stated that his warnings should be taken seriously.
"TURKEY IS NO LONGER JUST A RIVAL, BUT A MUCH GREATER RISK THAN THE IRANIAN THREAT"
Tal claimed that Turkey poses a greater risk to Israel than Iran, stating: "Turkey, under the leadership of President Erdoğan, is no longer just a rival. Turkey is rapidly and strongly becoming a risk factor that could be much greater than the Iranian threat in the near future. Today, Turkey is a stronger country than Iran in economic, diplomatic, and military terms. It is benefiting from the legitimacy granted to it in Washington and also has good relations with Beijing. The combination of all these factors poses a strategic explosion risk for the state of Israel."
"TURKEY IS DELIBERATELY OPPOSED TO ISRAEL'S INTERESTS"
Pointing out that Turkey's increasing influence in Jerusalem has become a strategic problem for Israel, Tal argued that Ankara systematically opposes Tel Aviv's interests. The Israeli lawmaker continued his claims by stating, "Turkey is deliberately and actively opposing Israel's interests in every arena possible."
"THE TURKISH THREAT IS NOT PHYSICALLY FAR AWAY"
In his statements targeting the Turkish Consulate in Jerusalem, Tal said: "The message we need to convey to the world must be clear and straightforward. A country that provides protection to our main enemies cannot play any role in Gaza; neither civilian nor military. Furthermore, the Turkish threat is not physically far away. It operates in the heart of the Israeli capital, at the Turkish Consulate in Jerusalem. The Turkish Consulate in Jerusalem acts like a hostile operation center aimed at establishing cultural sovereignty in violation of both Israeli laws and international law, with the goal of making Jerusalem a Muslim city under Turkish protection and undermining Israeli sovereignty."
