A new regulation that concerns millions of citizens has been brought to the Parliament. MHP Kayseri Deputy İsmail Özdemir proposed that implant treatment be included in the scope of SGK, while suggesting that the support be limited to only domestically produced implants and a maximum of 4 units. The regulation aims to both improve citizens' access to treatment and support the domestic implant industry.
MHP Deputy Chairman and Kayseri Member of Parliament İsmail Özdemir has taken a step that concerns millions of citizens regarding oral and dental health treatments. Özdemir submitted a bill to the Parliament for the coverage of implant procedures by the Social Security Institution (SGK).
NATIONAL AND LIMIT OF 4 UNITS Two main regulations stand out in the proposal. It is stipulated that the implants must be produced in Turkey to benefit from the support. Additionally, it is proposed to limit the number of implants covered by SGK to a maximum of four. This framework aims to support local manufacturers and to use public resources in a controlled manner.
"A VITAL NEED FOR RETIREES" The justification of the proposal emphasizes that the increasing retired population in Turkey faces serious difficulties in daily life due to oral and dental health issues. It was noted that the difficulty of getting implants due to economic reasons negatively affects many areas, from dietary habits to overall health status.
Özdemir also stated in his evaluation on social media that implant treatment has become an inaccessible service, especially for retirees. The MHP deputy expressed that "We have the resources, we can provide the necessary support for our citizens' oral and dental health," indicating that the scope of the proposal covers all citizens.

It was stated that state support would prevent these problems and lead to a decrease in health expenditures in the long run.
STRATEGIC CONTRIBUTION TO LOCAL PRODUCTION The bill is not only limited to facilitating citizens' access to health services. It also aims to support companies producing implants in Turkey, reduce dependency on foreign sources, and increase the export potential in the medical device sector. The proposal indicates that increasing technology-intensive production capacity would be an important step for the national economy.
