MHP leader Bahçeli, at his party's group meeting, stated, "If the goal of a terror-free Turkey is to be realized, there is no point in dragging one's feet about going to İmralı. If no one is willing to make this visit, I openly say; I will take three of my friends with me, and I will not hesitate to go to İmralı with our own means."
Bahçeli: I would go to İmralı myself, there is no point in dragging my feet.
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made the following statements at his party's group meeting:
"A conclusion must be reached regarding the ongoing discussions about whether to go to İmralı or not. If the goal of a Terror-free Turkey is to find life and ground in honest and sincere measures, then there will be no point in dragging our feet about going to İmralı. How will progress be made if direct contact is not established with one of the main interlocutors of the process? If the commission established in the Parliament cannot make a decision in this context, if no one is willing to undertake this visit, and if everyone insists on playing the three monkeys, I openly say; I will take three of my friends with me and will not hesitate or shy away from going to İmralı on our own means, nor will I avoid meeting face to face around a table."
