The hotel, built by the Uzan Group at the Saklıkent Ski Resort in Antalya, which was seized by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) and sold to a company by the National Estate in 2019, has been put up for sale.
Located 47 kilometers from Antalya's Konyaaltı beach, the luxury hotel built by the Uzan Group in the early 2000s was put up for sale before it could open. Although the construction of the hotel was completed, it could not be put into service. After the group's assets were seized, the hotel passed to TMSF. The hotel, which was registered in the name of the Treasury by court order from TMSF to TEDAŞ, was sold to a private company by the National Estate in 2019.
THE GOVERNOR LEFT, THE HOTEL WAS FORGOTTEN
Over the years, the exterior of the hotel, which could not be put into service and remained idle, was damaged due to weather conditions. The unprotected hotel's windows were broken, and various items inside, such as beds, tables, and chairs, were looted. During the period when Deputy Interior Minister Münir Karaloğlu was the Governor of Antalya, he made many attempts to rescue the hotel from its idle state, but it was forgotten again after Karaloğlu was appointed to Diyarbakır.
QUIETNESS AFTER THE PANDEMIC
In a statement made to DHA at that time, the company officials who purchased the hotel from the National Estate in 2019 stated that they found an opportunity to invest in the region by acquiring a small facility. They mentioned that they were in close contact with the cooperative management and planned to make a larger investment in the region, promising that the hotel would be renovated and opened in 2020. However, the opening could not take place in 2020, and subsequently, no work could be carried out regarding the idle hotel due to the pandemic that affected the entire world.
'FOR SALE' SIGN HUNG
Since the expected investment did not materialize after the sale and investment period coinciding with the pandemic, the hotel has not been opened since then. A few months ago, a 'for sale' sign was hung on the idle hotel. The realtor authorized for the sale announcement stated that they had received information about the sale of the hotel but could not provide details. The facility, built as a 22-room hotel, consists of a total area of 3,567 square meters with 555 square meters of enclosed space. After the sale in 2019, the broken exterior windows of the hotel were renewed, but it was found that many of the exterior windows were broken again when it fell back into an idle state.
