The forest fire that broke out in the Gelibolu district of Çanakkale continues on its second day. As daylight broke, teams resumed their efforts to combat the fire, while the northern line of the Historical Area was temporarily closed due to the flames engulfing the region. In the latest statement from the Çanakkale Governorship, it was stated, "Beşyol village in Eceabat has been evacuated as a precaution. The number of evacuated villages has reached 7. So far, thank God, the fire has not spread to the residential areas we have evacuated. The historical area (cemeteries) has been partially closed to visitors for the safety of visitors. HISTORICAL AREAS ARE UNDER THREAT
Stating that access to the northern line of the Historical Area has been halted due to the fire, the Çanakkale Wars Historical Area Presidency said, "Due to the ongoing forest fire around Eceabat district, access to the Northern Line of the Historical Area (Sunken Ship, Mimoza, 57th Regiment, and Conkbayırı) has been halted until further notice for the safety of visitors, fire extinguishing efforts, and the protection of the area. Additionally, Bigalı Castle, Bigalı Atatürk House, and the Çanakkale Epic Promotion Center will also be temporarily closed to visitors. We respectfully announce to the public."
