It was claimed that Alper Potuk, who plays for the Macedonian League team Gostivar, received a 2-year ban after withdrawing from the field. The Gostivar Club denied the news about the punishment given to Alper Potuk on their social media accounts.
The Gostivar Football Club, competing in the Macedonian League, faced Rabotnicki on April 27, 2025, during which team captain Alper Potuk instructed his teammates to withdraw from the field. Following this incident, rumors emerged that a suspension would be imposed on Alper Potuk, as well as the head coach and the club president. The Gostivar Club made a statement regarding these allegations.
"THERE IS NO DECISION YET"
In the statement made by the club, it was emphasized that some claims about captain Alper Potuk and the club circulating in the media and on social media do not reflect the truth. The statement noted that decisions that have not yet been finalized have been served to the public in a biased and partial manner. Gostivar FK stated that they have not yet received official decisions from the Macedonian Football Federation and that necessary legal appeals will be made as soon as the decisions are received.
It was also noted that the process of taking the matter to international football authorities is on the agenda. The club also expressed that the reasons for the decision to withdraw from the field and the league will be shared with the public after the legal processes are completed.
