The trial of Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was removed from the position of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor, regarding the cancellation of his diploma, was held in a courtroom across from the Marmara Penal Institution due to the insufficient capacity of the main courtroom, instead of being held at the Istanbul 5th Administrative Court.
İMAMOĞLU ATTENDED THE TRIAL FOR THE FIRST TIME
During the trial, which started around 11:30, the plaintiff İmamoğlu physically attended the trial for the first time and made a verbal objection. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik, IMM Deputy Chairman Nuri Aslan, and Dilek İmamoğlu also attended the trial.
TENSION BEFORE THE TRIAL
Security measures were taken in front of the courtroom before the trial. Tension arose between the gendarmerie and those who tried to break through the security barrier to enter. The trial has ended. It was stated that the court's decision would be announced in 15 days.

The shared footage on social media led to various interpretations. While some users suggested that Dilek İmamoğlu was taking a stand due to the events, others argued that he acted this way because he was saddened by what his wife was going through.
