The former Minister of Public Works and Settlement, and former Mayor of Samsun, Mustafa Demir, passed away at the age of 64 in the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
The former Minister of Public Works and Settlement, Mustafa Demir, born in 1961 and a member of the AK Party representing Samsun in the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th terms, who served as the Mayor of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality after the local elections on March 31, 2019, passed away in a hospital in Ankara where he was receiving treatment.
WILL BE BURIED ON THURSDAY
Demir's funeral prayer will be held today at the Great Mosque of Samsun at the afternoon prayer. Demir will be laid to rest in the Şalpazarı district of Trabzon on Thursday, August 7.

The Chairman of the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission and AK Party Samsun Deputy Mehmet Muş stated in a post on his social media account that they learned with sadness about the passing of the former Minister of Public Works and Settlement, who previously served as a Samsun Deputy and Mayor of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, and expressed, "His services to our nation and our Samsun will always be remembered with gratitude. May his family and loved ones be consoled. May Allah have mercy on him."
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Halit Doğan also expressed his sadness over the news of Demir's passing on his social media account, stating:
"I learned with sorrow about the passing of our esteemed elder Mustafa Demir, who served our Samsun and our country as the Founding Provincial Chairman of the AK Party Samsun, as a deputy, as the Minister of Public Works and Settlement, and as the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality. We will always remember our President for the services he brought to our city. I pray for Allah's mercy upon him and wish patience to his family and loved ones. May his place be paradise, and his rank be high."
