After the young girl who passed away following a hiatal hernia surgery at a private hospital in Adana, the hospital's chief physician claimed, "She used hookah and electronic cigarettes after being discharged." However, the girl's brother refuted this by stating, "She couldn't even drink water after the surgery."
Çiğdem Bulut (33), a beauty specialist working in Iraq, came to her hometown Adana some time ago for the mourning of a relative. After feeling discomfort in her stomach at the funeral, she was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia by a doctor at a private hospital. Wanting to undergo surgery for treatment, Bulut agreed with General Surgery Specialist Opr. Dr. B.G. on August 15.
HE PASSED AWAY 15 DAYS AFTER THE SURGERY
Bulut was taken into surgery on August 18 and was discharged two days later. After the surgery, Bulut began to experience vomiting, and her relatives, worried about her condition, explained the situation to the doctor who performed the operation. Relatives claimed that the doctor told them, "It's psychological, it has nothing to do with my surgery." As Bulut's condition worsened, she was taken back to the hospital where she had the surgery on August 25. There, Bulut's condition deteriorated further, and she was transferred to the intensive care unit and intubated before being sent to Seyhan State Hospital. It was claimed that Bulut suffered damage to her internal organs after the surgery, and she was taken back into surgery but passed away around 6:30 PM yesterday. Yasmin Elif Salman (4), who was also being treated at the same hospital, passed away on September 6.
THE CHIEF PHYSICIAN BLAMED THE YOUNG GIRL'S FAMILY
Following the death of the young woman and a child, Chief Physician Onur Taktakoğlu, who has been targeted by accusations, stated, "We are under an attack on our reputation. The young woman who passed away used a hookah after leaving the hospital. She was successfully discharged. She had no issues. She finished a hookah and an electronic cigarette in one day at home. After the doctor told her not to use any substances, she used them."
"MY SISTER DID NOT USE HOOKAH"
Brother Mehmet Timur (45) expressed the need to respond to the doctor's statement, saying, "They say our daughter smoked hookah at home. However, she couldn't even drink water after the surgery. When we contacted the doctor, they stated that the situation was psychological. But she became unwell at night, was taken to intensive care, and intubated. They told me her lung had collapsed. I asked, 'Did you not check her lung?' The doctor replied, 'I didn't check, I didn't check,' and left. Then the girl was transferred to Seyhan State Hospital. The doctors there did their best, but she could not be saved. If they had just offered their condolences, this incident would not have escalated to this extent," he said.
