The incident occurred around 12:30 in the Korkut Reis neighborhood of Çankaya district on Strasbourg Street. The woman, who wanted to cross the road using the pedestrian crossing, reacted to the commercial vehicle belonging to a water distribution company for not slowing down. The driver, who got out of the vehicle, punched the woman and assaulted her.
As the woman fell to the ground from the blow she received, the driver got back into the vehicle and fled while bystanders intervened. The injured woman was taken to the hospital after receiving first aid from the medical team that arrived following a report from the bystanders.

Eyewitness Emre Kara, a tradesman, stated that they chased the driver who fled after attacking the woman; however, they could not catch up. He said, “I heard shouting while parking my vehicle. He had blocked the road. They were fighting with the lady. After that, the man hit the lady 2-3 times. He came from behind and punched her again. After that, the woman fell face down on the ground. At that moment, the man got into the vehicle and fled. I ran, but I couldn't catch up.”
Another eyewitness, Murat Güngör, said, “I think it was a dispute over yielding the right of way. The woman was slowly crossing the street, and the driver got angry. Then there was an argument. The man punched the woman violently and directly got into the car and drove away.”

The incident was also captured by security cameras. The footage showed the driver getting out of the light commercial vehicle and punching the woman using the pedestrian crossing, and then getting back into his vehicle and fleeing. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
