After climbing a mountain at an altitude of 800 meters in Antalya and getting stranded at the 650th meter, the young person was rescued on the fourth day after being able to call for help. They were saved thanks to the successful operation of the JAK and AFAD teams directed to the area following a tip-off. The young person, who spent the night with the rescue teams, answered the question of why they climbed the mountain by saying, "I wanted to look at the stars. I was very bored."

In the Çakırlar neighborhood of Konyaaltı district in Antalya, Samet Kara (29), who was stranded at the 650th meter of a mountain with an altitude of approximately 800 meters on Saturday, tried to make his voice heard for days. On Monday night, workers at a nearby sand quarry heard someone shouting for help from the mountainous area and checked the surroundings. Security personnel who checked the area where the sound was coming from realized that the call for help was coming from the steep rocky mountainous area. Workers who searched the area with their own means found no one. However, early yesterday morning, when they heard someone calling for help again, the workers reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

WAVED AT THE DRONE

Upon receiving a tip from a local resident who saw a person in the mountainous area waving, a Gendarmerie Commando Search and Rescue team (JAK) and AFAD teams were dispatched to the region. Upon arriving at the given location, AFAD teams first conducted a search in the area using thermal and infrared camera drones. During the search, the location of the stranded young man was identified. The young man, who was observed to be hiding in a crevice among the rocks and in a very exhausted state, showed his happiness by waving at the drone sent by the AFAD teams that came to rescue him.

REACHED AFTER A 10-HOUR CLIMB

After identifying the young man's location, AFAD teams requested assistance from the Gendarmerie Commando Search and Rescue (JAK) team due to the steep rocky terrain and the impossibility of access. The JAK teams, who started climbing from the other side of the mountainous area yesterday afternoon, managed to reach Samet Kara, who had been stranded in the area for 4 days, late at night after approximately 10 hours of effort. The young man, who saw the JAK team that came to rescue him in the crevice where he had taken shelter, experienced great joy, and it was determined during the initial check that he had no injuries.

SPENT THE NIGHT TOGETHER BY MAKING A FIRE

Due to the ongoing rain and the late hour, the JAK team decided to spend the night in the area to ensure the young man's safe rescue. The JAK team, which set up camp at the location where the young man was found, made a fire to warm him up and provided him with food and water, as he was seen to be wet and cold. Early in the morning, efforts to bring the young man down resumed. The team brought shoes for Samet Kara, whose slippers had become unusable. Then, with the necessary safety measures taken, Kara was rescued by being lowered with mountaineering equipment by the JAK and AFAD teams.

"THANK YOU TO OUR STATE"

Expressing his joy at being rescued, Kara said, "I went to the mountain without precautions. I had been there for 4 or 5 days. Thank you to our state. If they hadn't come, I would have died there or thrown myself. They came at night, made a fire, and fed me. I am very grateful."
