A woman who gave birth at home in Elazığ threw her baby into a trash container in front of the building. While the baby was taken under medical care by health teams, the woman was detained by the police.
A foreign woman living on Kayısı Street in the Kültür neighborhood threw her newborn baby, which she gave birth to at home, into a trash container in front of her house. After surveying the surroundings, the woman re-entered her home. Local shopkeepers who saw the woman throw something in the trash and heard a crying sound went to check and found the newborn baby naked in the container.
THE BABY IS IN THE HOSPITAL, THE MOTHER IS IN CUSTODY
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The baby, who was taken from the container and wrapped in a blanket by the health teams, was transported to Fethi Sekin City Hospital by ambulance for treatment. Subsequently, police teams conducting an investigation at the scene detained the woman at her home. The woman, who was bleeding, was also taken to the hospital under police supervision for treatment. Meanwhile, it was learned that the baby's condition is good.

One of the shopkeepers who witnessed the incident and reported it to the teams, Nazmi Kekeç, said, "I saw it, the woman was outside. She gave birth to the child and threw it in the trash. Then she looked around. After that, she ran back into the house. Then I called the police. An ambulance came, took the child and left. The police took the woman away. The ground was all blood. The epitome of heartlessness," he said.

A citizen who witnessed the incident, Kaan Şimşek, stated, "I saw the child inside the container. When I arrived, the child was crying. Everyone was looking out the window. Then I called the teams on the phone. The teams came, took the baby and left. The police also took the woman," he said.
