In the Kumluca district of Antalya, agricultural areas were damaged due to heavy rainfall, and the homes of workers in greenhouses were flooded. A driver who was stranded in the water was rescued by AFAD teams with the help of a boat.
The heavy rain that started in the Kumluca district of Antalya, where the meteorology department issued a yellow code warning, intensified around 4:00 PM. Flooding occurred in the neighborhoods of Karşıyaka, Kum, Göksu, Beykonak, and Mavikent, while many greenhouses and orange orchards were submerged. The homes of agricultural workers in the greenhouses were also filled with water. Kumluca District Governor Bahadır Güneş and Mayor Mesut Avcıoğlu conducted inspections in the area with their teams.
DRIVER TRAPPED IN VEHICLE RESCUED BY BOAT
The intense water accumulation on the streets and avenues due to the rain left some vehicles stranded. AFAD teams rescued a citizen named Halit Özdamar, who was trapped in his vehicle, with the help of a boat. Özdamar said, "There were two of us, we got stuck on the road. I had to pull the vehicle to the side. AFAD came and rescued us, God bless them."
12 CITIZENS TRAPPED IN THEIR HOMES IN KEMER RESCUED
In the Çamyuva neighborhood of Kemer district, a total of 12 citizens, including 2 bedridden women, 1 baby, 4 children, and 5 elderly men, reported that they were trapped in their homes and requested help. The 12 citizens who were trapped were taken from their location to a safe area with the support of the gendarmerie.
