THE BAN WILL TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY
The statement noted that the ban will take effect immediately, and it was recorded that the decision was made due to 'national security and public policy' reasons. The New Delhi administration also announced that the receipt of all mail and cargo coming from Pakistan by air and land has been suspended, and the entry of Pakistani-flagged ships into Indian ports and the visits of Indian-flagged ships to Pakistani ports have been banned.
