More than 7,000 pre-orders have been placed for XPENG's modular flying car "Land Aircraft Carrier" before mass production; deliveries are planned to start at the end of 2026. The starting price of the flying car has been announced as $280,000 (approximately 12.2 million TL).
The Chinese technology giant XPENG is bringing together the automotive and aviation sectors with its flying car project "Land Aircraft Carrier." The vehicle developed by XPENG's flying car brand Aridge (formerly known as AeroHT) is preparing for mass production in 2026.
PRE-ORDER NUMBER EXCEEDS 7 THOUSAND
According to the information shared by the company, the global pre-order number has exceeded 7 thousand even before mass production has started. A bulk order of 600 units from the Middle East has revealed international interest in the project.
TWO MODULE SYSTEM: ON LAND AND IN THE AIR
The system called "Land Aircraft Carrier" consists of two main modules. The land module is designed as a carrier that is 5.5 meters long, with three axles and six wheels. The vehicle, which has an 800V range-extending hybrid (EREV) infrastructure, offers a range of over 1000 kilometers on land. It can also charge the aircraft it carries. The air module is developed as an electric eVTOL vehicle with a fully carbon fiber body for two people. The aircraft can detach from the carrier with a single button and can be used with a joystick or in autonomous mode. The company states that a short training period is sufficient for basic use. The vehicle can make 5-6 short flights on a full charge and can reach a maximum speed of 360 km/h.
MASS PRODUCTION AT THE END OF 2026
According to the news compiled by the Turkish newspaper; XPENG has established a production facility in Guangzhou with an annual capacity of 10 thousand units for the project. The first mass deliveries are targeted to begin in the last quarter of 2026. The starting price of the flying car has been announced as 280 thousand dollars (approximately 12.2 million TL).
