Kıyasettin Ş. in Arnavutköy, Istanbul, stabbed and killed his wife in front of her 3 children just 2 days after they moved into their new home. The suspect, who fled the scene after the incident, surrendered to the police shortly after. Neighbors reported hearing sounds of an argument followed by reconciliation from the apartment during the night, and later one of the children went out onto the balcony and shouted for help.
In Arnavutköy, Kıyasettin Ş. stabbed his wife Filiz Ş. (32) to death in front of their children just two days after they moved into their new home. After the incident, Kıyasettin Ş. fled but surrendered to the police shortly after. The moments when the suspect left the scene were captured by security cameras.
The incident occurred around 1:00 AM on Sokullu Mehmet Street in the İslambey neighborhood, on the third floor of a four-story building. Allegedly, a dispute broke out between Kıyasettin Ş. and his wife Filiz Ş. for an unknown reason. The argument quickly escalated into a fight. While three children under the age of 12 were present in the house, Kıyasettin Ş. repeatedly stabbed his wife.
IT WAS DETERMINED THAT SHE LOST HER LIFE
Following a report from neighbors, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene for Filiz Ş., who was severely injured in front of her children. Medical teams confirmed that the young woman had lost her life. It was learned that the suspect Kıyasettin Ş. left the building after the incident and surrendered to the police shortly after.
"THE CHILD ASKED FOR HELP FROM THE BALCONY"
Neighborhood residents reported hearing sounds of both arguing and reconciliation from the apartment during the night, and later one of the children shouted for help from the balcony. Neighborhood resident Necati Aydın said, "He killed his wife and surrendered to the police. They had just moved here two days ago. I don't know what the problem was. I saw the three children; the police took them away."
Another resident, Mehmet Aydın, stated, "I had stepped out onto the balcony and heard a child's scream. After that, I ran over. When I arrived, he was downstairs, leaving calmly. I didn't know he had done this. When I entered the house, the woman was lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Later, he called the landlord and said, 'Brother, I did such an incident, I am going to surrender to the police station.'"
CHILDREN TAKEN INTO PROTECTION
Police teams took the three children found in the house into protection and took them to the police station. Crime scene investigation teams conducted a detailed examination in the apartment. After the examination by the duty prosecutor, the lifeless body of Filiz Ş. was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution for autopsy. The procedures for Kıyasettin Ş., who was taken into custody, are ongoing at the police station.
