In operations targeting an organized crime syndicate based in Ankara, 37 suspects were apprehended in Istanbul, Eskişehir, Kocaeli, and Kırşehir. It was learned that the crime syndicate has 87 separate criminal records for qualified theft incidents occurring between 2021 and 2026, and has been involved in robbery and extortion incidents three times.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the Organized Crime Fighting Branch of the Ankara Police Department, and the Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, operations were carried out against an organized crime group in 5 provinces.
56 SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED
As part of the investigation, 56 suspects were identified who were involved in establishing an organized crime group in Ankara, with 87 separate criminal records for qualified theft incidents occurring between 2021-2026 at residences, workplaces, warehouses, construction sites, and vehicles, as well as being involved in 3 robbery and extortion incidents.
Due to these crimes, 19 members of the criminal organization are currently held in prison, while the teams continue their search efforts for 37 suspects.
OPERATION AT 37 SEPARATE RESIDENCES
The teams conducted operations at 37 separate residential addresses and 35 vehicles identified in Ankara, Istanbul, Eskişehir, Kocaeli, and Kırşehir targeting these suspects.
DOZENS OF ARRESTS
It was learned that the procedures for the 37 suspects who were captured and taken into custody during the operations are ongoing at the police station.
