Minister Murat Kurum announced: Which districts reported the most damage in the earthquake?

WHICH PROVINCE SUFFERED THE MOST DAMAGE?

Minister Kurum stated, "If this duration had been longer and the intensity had increased, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake could have been quite destructive."

The earthquake lasted for 13 seconds, and due to its low acceleration, there was not a significant destruction. As you may recall, the magnitude of the earthquake in Elazığ Sivrice was similar, but its short duration prevented extensive damage.

If this duration had been longer and the intensity had increased, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake could have been quite destructive.

We received reports of damage concerning 6539 buildings. Of these buildings, 1473 were found to be undamaged and 101 were classified as slightly damaged. The most reports came from Bahçelievler, Esenler, Bağcılar, Zeytinburnu, Avcılar, and Küçükçekmece. Looking at the distribution of damage reports, this table emerges. When examining the percentage of damage reports, 80% come from the European Side.

HALF OF IT IS FROM US CAMPAIGN

After the 6.2 magnitude earthquake, we will include all citizens who suffered slight damage in the Half of It Is From Us campaign. If our citizens consent, we will involve them in this transformation process.
