Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared the latest situation in his statements following his inspection of the neighborhoods affected by the fire in the Ödemiş district of İzmir. Minister Yerlikaya stated, "As a result of the preliminary damage assessments conducted throughout İzmir, it has been determined that 228 houses and 15 barns have sustained severe damage. We will rebuild all the damaged structures here in a better way and deliver them within a maximum of 6 months."

Once the rights holders are clarified in coordination with AFAD and TOKİ, we will deliver the keys to the rights holders within 5-6 months. We will also construct the barns.

So far, we have paid 16 million lira to those who have been assessed for damages related to support payments. We will make the payments on Monday morning or at the latest by Tuesday.

There is a study by the provincial agricultural directorate regarding agricultural damages. This takes some time. After our friends come and assess where you are registered, support payments will be made. The Ministry of Family will also start making payments for damaged belongings.

İZMİR ÖDEMİŞ FIRE

Due to the fire spreading with the effect of the wind, the neighborhoods of Suçıktı, Tosunlar, Üzümlü, Ortaköy, and Karadoğan were evacuated as a precaution, and the fire caused damage to houses and barns in these neighborhoods.

During the intervention to the fire, a bulldozer operator from Ilgın district of Konya, İbrahim Demir (39), was martyred, and a forest worker, Ragıp Şahin (45), who was working in the same area, was injured. Despite treatment at İzmir City Hospital, Şahin was martyred. Additionally, a bedridden patient named İbrahim Erkan (81), who was trapped in the flames, also lost his life.
