While it has been widely reported in the political arena that Özlem Çerçioğlu, the CHP Mayor of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, will resign from her party and join the AK Party, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated in his speech yesterday, "There will be joiners to our party tomorrow. We will continue on our path with strength. With over 1 million members, we are one of the largest grassroots youth movements not only in our country but also in the world. Despite all smear campaigns and various perception operations, we are expanding our ranks even further. With new joiners, our family is growing and strengthening. We continue to instill fear in our rivals while giving confidence to our friends."
6 NAMES FROM CHP ARE JOINING AK PARTY
It has been confirmed by the CHP that Aydın Metropolitan Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu will join the AK Party, and it was stated that 9 municipalities will join the AK Party today. Accordingly, 6 of the 9 municipalities joining the AK Party are from CHP, 2 from the İYİ Party, and 1 is independent.

Journalist İsmail Saymaz announced the municipalities that will join the AK Party tomorrow on his social media account.
The nine municipalities mentioned in Saymaz's post are as follows:
- Aydın Metropolitan Municipality,
- Aydın's Söke, Yenipazar, Sultanhisar municipalities
- Gaziantep's Şehitkamil Municipality
- Yalova's Altınova Municipality
- Isparta's Yalvaç Municipality
- Aksaray's Yeşiltepe Municipality
- Kastamonu's Bozkurt Municipality

On the other hand, Özgür Özel harshly criticized Özlem Çerçioğlu, the Aydın Metropolitan Mayor who will switch from CHP to AK Party.
Özel stated that Çerçioğlu is afraid of him, using the following expressions: "This person, whom we unfairly labeled as Heels Efe, is afraid of these. They told her, 'You will either be imprisoned or join the AKP.' When Nazilli Municipality in Aydın switched from İYİ Party to AKP, she said, 'Those votes were given to the National Alliance. May it be haram.' Oh, Heels Efe, those votes were given to CHP. Shame on you. May it be haram. The people cast their votes for CHP. Now you have threatened and taken this, and shame on Özlem Çerçioğlu who has surrendered to Erdoğan. The entire Aegean region is with CHP.
