Due to his remarks directed at the military commanders, CHP leader Özgür Özel received a response from President Erdoğan, who said, "I am addressing you as the Commander-in-Chief; if you don't watch your step, we know how to make you pay for it." CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır replied, "Whose step are you trying to control, Erdoğan? We are not like the appointed ministers trembling before you or the MYK members waiting for orders."

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel criticized the force commanders regarding the expulsion decision about the lieutenants during yesterday's group meeting. Özel said, "I am telling you what I told Hulusi Akar. You are people who have received not the prayers but the curses of your friends." In response to Özel's remarks, President Erdoğan answered at his party's Expanded Provincial Chairmen Meeting. Erdoğan stated, "As the Commander-in-Chief, I am addressing you; if you do not take care of your steps, we know how to make you pay for it. You do not have the authority or the right to insult the command echelon of my army; you must know your limits."

CHP'S STRONG RESPONSE: YOU CANNOT THREATEN OUR CHAIRMAN

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır responded to President Erdoğan. In a statement he made on his Twitter account, Başarır said: "Whose feet are you trying to control, Erdoğan? One day you are the Chairman of the AKP, another day you are the President, and another day you are the Commander-in-Chief… You cannot maintain your power by changing your shell as it suits you and filling your time with intimidation politics!

You cannot threaten our Chairman Özgür Özel through our national army! We are not like the appointed ministers trembling before you or the MYK members waiting for orders. We are the soldiers of the Republic; we neither bow down nor take a step back!"

ERDOĞAN: WATCH YOUR STEPS

The turnips spilled out of the bag in recent weeks show how the main opposition is struggling in a quagmire. From their congresses to their education, from their concerts to their tenders, there is either irregularity, corruption, or cannibalism, as expressed by former Çankaya mayors.

Do you never have any proper work? Mr. Özel should answer this instead of turning the people's podium into a podium for polemics. Don't you feel any shame about the situation you have brought the party founded by Gazi Mustafa Kemal into?

Mr. Özel talks a lot but speaks empty words. His debt of gratitude leaves Mr. Özel in a difficult situation. The irresponsible, low-level, and aggressive statements he used regarding the command echelon of my army are the latest example. Mr. Özel, as the Commander-in-Chief, I am addressing you. Watch your steps; if you do not, we know how to make you pay for it. You do not have the authority or the right to insult the command echelon of my army. You must know your limits.

COMMANDERS WILL SUE ÖZEL

My Minister of National Defense and the commanders will sue Özel. The sooner the CHP chairman comes to his senses, the better it will be. Otherwise, the bells that will take Mr. Kemal away will start ringing for him. One cannot expect solutions from someone who is constantly producing from a structure that has no benefit to anyone but themselves. This scene reminds us once again of the burden we carry. We are fighting to turn the ideal of a great and strong Turkey into reality. We are the hope of this nation. We are the guarantee of its independence. We will not sit in these seats, which we have come to with the people's approval, forever. When the time comes, we will return to the earth."
