The first reaction from the DEM Party came after the CHP's decision not to go to Imralı. DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit stated in her announcement, "We are contributing to the resolution of this issue. History is made by brave people, by those who dare, and it is written by those who stand on the right side. History will record both those who take responsibility and those who do not."
CHP has decided not to go to İmralı. Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir announced the party's stance to the public, stating that they would say "no" to the visit decision and would not provide a member for the delegation. Emir emphasized that they would continue to be part of the Commission despite this.
In the party's statement, it was expressed that support for the process would continue in line with the goal of a "Terror-free Turkey."
"THE MEETING SHOULD NOT BE HIDDEN FROM THE PEOPLE"
Murat Emir, in his evaluation, highlighted the importance of transparency and used the following statements:
"We do not find it right for a meeting where the trip to İmralı will be discussed to be held secretly from our nation. Every political party should clearly express its stance. As CHP, we do not find it appropriate to provide a member for the commission delegation, but we will continue to stay in the commission."
DEM PARTY REACTS TO CHP: HISTORY WILL JUDGE BOTH THOSE WHO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND THOSE WHO DO NOT
Criticism came from the DEM Party regarding CHP's decision not to go to İmralı. DEM Party Group Deputy Chairman Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit reacted to the decision, stating that they contributed to the process.
In her statement, Koçyiğit conveyed the following messages:
"History is written by the brave. And today we are at a historical crossroads, and we are making history. Will we take responsibility for the construction of a democratic republic, or will we not? History will also judge those who do not take responsibility. This is not an election or a matter of votes. We are discussing our future. We are in a place where we need to look beyond politics. We cannot dance around the problem. We cannot miss the solution again by sweeping the problem under the rug. There is a party responsible for the problem. There is a leader of an organization who has dissolved his organization with a single call, who is the main actor of the problem. The commission must truly meet with the party responsible and lay the groundwork for the roadmap."
