The AK Party Istanbul Provincial Presidency filed a lawsuit on September 21, seeking the annulment of the Bayrampaşa Deputy Mayor election, which was won by the CHP. In a statement from the AK Party, it was said, "We have initiated legal proceedings against the understanding that disregards and usurps the will of our council members elected by the people."

In the Vice Presidency election at the Bayrampaşa Municipality, due to a tie in votes in the 4th round, the CHP candidate İbrahim Kahraman was elected as vice president as a result of the lottery draw. It was learned that after the elections, the AK Party group would file a lawsuit to annul the election in which CHP's İbrahim Kahraman was elected as the Vice President of Bayrampaşa Municipality.

The move from the AK Party came without delay. The AK Party Istanbul Provincial Presidency announced that they have filed a lawsuit for the annulment of the vice presidency election held in the Bayrampaşa Municipal Council, requesting a stay of execution.

We have filed a lawsuit requesting a stay of execution for the annulment of this process, in which the will entrusted to us by our nation is ignored."
