The Israeli government raised the alert level in the military over the possibility that U.S. President Donald Trump may have decided to carry out a military attack on Iran.

The possibility of the U.S. carrying out a potential attack on Iran within days is being seriously evaluated in Tel Aviv. As part of this possibility, the Israeli government has put the army on high alert and has also elevated its air defense preparations against missile attacks and regional threats.

In a report by Haaretz, citing Israeli senior security officials, it was noted that despite the lack of a clear public indication from the Washington administration regarding a potential attack decision, the likelihood of the attack occurring within days is being seriously assessed in Tel Aviv.

ALERT STATUS INCREASED

Security officials stated that the Tel Aviv government has recently put the army on high alert in preparation for a possible U.S. attack on Iran, noting that the army is preparing for different scenarios. In this context, it was reported that the Israeli army has increased its preparations against potential missile attacks, deployed air defense systems, and further heightened the alert status in recent days. It was also noted that these preparations encompass threats that may arise from Yemen and Lebanon.

Officials pointed out that the decision-making process of U.S. President Trump is unpredictable, expressing that even if Washington decides to attack, it could withdraw at the last moment.

ISRAEL MAY NOT BE THE FIRST TARGET AFTER A U.S. ATTACK ON IRAN

It was also stated that there is no clarity on whether the Iranian army would target Israel first in retaliation against a potential U.S. attack.

Security officials suggested that the likelihood of Iran directly targeting Israel in retaliation could only occur if the U.S. attack lasts for a long time or if the Iranian government perceives a serious threat to its stability.

Officials indicated that it is more likely for the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen to become involved in the process following a potential U.S. attack, stating that if the attack prolongs and the losses Iran incurs increase, the likelihood of the Houthis resuming missile attacks on Israel or maritime trade routes in the region would rise.
