The driver G.G., who did not comply with the "stop" warning while driving the bus carrying the CHP delegation and drove the bus towards the police, was sentenced to house arrest along with a "travel ban."
CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut shared information on his social media account that a bus driver working at the party's headquarters has been referred to the court with a request for arrest.
RELEASED UNDER HOUSE ARREST
In his post, Bulut stated, "They have completely lost their minds. They have referred our veteran bus driver Gökhan to the court with a request for arrest. His crime is taking our MPs to the 1st Assembly on April 23. Have a little mercy, a little sense, a little conscience. Keep your hands off the workers!" Bulut added in his second post, "Our brother Gökhan has been released under house arrest. Get well soon."
STATEMENT FROM ANKARA CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
In a statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the matter, it was stated, "On May 23, 2025, the suspect G.G., who did not comply with the stop warning of the police officers on duty and drove the bus towards them, has been referred to the court with a request for arrest within the scope of the investigation conducted by our Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. As a result of the interrogation, a travel ban was imposed on the suspect by the Ankara Duty Peace Criminal Court along with a measure of not leaving the residence for the crime of 'resisting a public officer in a chain manner.'
