Retirees are looking forward to the inflation data to be announced on July 3rd... With the data for June to be released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the July increase for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will become clear. While there has been a 15.1% inflation difference in the first five months, if the Central Bank's forecast of 1.61% for June materializes, the total increase rate will be 17%.
More than 16 million retirees in Turkey are focused on the inflation data for June, which will be announced on July 3. With the data to be shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the rate of increase that SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will receive in the second half of the year will be finalized. The inflation rate for the previous month was announced as 1.53%. Following this data, the inflation difference that SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees are entitled to for the first 5 months of the year has reached 15.1%.
THE CENTRAL BANK SHARED THE EXPECTATION REPORT
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced the June report of its Market Participants Survey, which it publishes regularly every month. 69 people participated in the survey, of which 52 were from the financial sector and 17 from the real sector. In the report, the inflation expectation for June was announced as 1.61%.
IF THE EXPECTATION MATERIALIZES, A 17% INCREASE FOR RETIREES
If the CBRT's forecast materializes, the total inflation difference for 6 months will reach 17% with the June data. Thus, the rate of increase in the salaries of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will also be approximately 17%.
The salary increase for civil servants and civil servant retirees will be calculated differently. For this group, new salaries will be determined by taking into account the collective bargaining increase and the inflation difference after the inflation data to be announced on July 3. Economists emphasize that the impact of high inflation, especially on low-income groups, continues, stating that the July increase may provide some relief in salaries.
