A 65-year-old man returning home after shopping in Avcılar was hit by a car. Due to the force of the impact, Aksoy was thrown into the air, flipped over, and fell to the ground 24 meters away. While the elderly man fought for his life in the hospital, the driver was taken to the police station for questioning. A witness stated that similar accidents frequently occur in the area and called for preventive measures to be taken.
A terrible accident occurred yesterday around 1:30 PM on Firuzköy Boulevard in the Avcılar district of Istanbul. The accident happened when a car driven by Muhammed Işık, coming from the underpass towards the Central Neighborhood, hit Sedat Aksoy (65), who was trying to cross the road with bags in his hands.
FLIPPED IN THE AIR AND THROWN METERS AWAY
With the force of the impact, Aksoy was thrown into the air, flipping over the car and landing several meters away. The medical team dispatched upon notification took the injured Aksoy to the hospital, where it was learned that he was in critical condition. The traffic team working at the scene determined that Aksoy fell to the ground 24 meters away.
NOT THE FIRST ACCIDENT
Driver Muhammed Işık was taken to the police station for questioning. Witness Volkan Atmaca stated that similar accidents frequently occur in the area and emphasized the need for precautions to be taken at this point.
